Stickney

The small village of Stickney with a population of around 2,150, is situated in the Fens of Lincolnshire between the Market Town of Boston and the seaside resort of Skegness. The immediate local authority is East Lindsey District Council. The Village mentioned in the Doomsday Book boasts a C of E church, St. Luke’s, a village shop and Post Office combined, A public House, “The Rising Sun” and the Main Surgery for the area providing for the medical needs of Stickney and the surrounding villages. These facilities are all located on the Main Road (A 16). The activity centre of the Village, the fine Village Hall and Youth centre are located in Hall Lane and are the venue for both social and sports meetings. The Parish Council of seven councillors under a chairperson are responsible to the village for the provision of services, planning decisions, and a myriad of other unseen duties that keep the village running. They are also the clearing house for complaints and suggested innovations made by the villagers. This site is run by the Parish Council to offer information, advice, and to foster a community sprit. It is for the village and therefore its content will reflect that which the village requires. In order to achieve this please make those requirements known by e-mail to Brian Wood, in person at Parish Council Meetings, or by contacting the Parish Clerk
