STICKNEY GUIDES/ BROWNIES & RAINBOWS
The District Commissioner Tracey Lamy-Edwards runs our local Guide unit and assists our newly appointed
“Brown Owl” Jackie Dodsworth with the Brownies,
whilst Gill Halliday the Assistant Guider takes on a broad spectrum of activities with both units.
Due to a lack of leaders they are unable to run “Rainbows” at the moment. For further information please contact :

S.T.O.P. (Sibsey Turbine onshore Protest)
The newly formed protest group representing 300+ residents against the wind turbine farm that will
affect and dominate
Sibsey and Stickney. The group is under the Chairmanship
of Tina McEwan, her deputy Ted Baker, with Sue Cook as

THURSDAY CLUB
Meeting on the first Thursday each month this club is restricted to the over 60s of Stickney. The membership enjoy social
events and numerious outings to places of interest. There is a joining fee of £3 and a meeting fee of £1. Meetings are
between 1pm & 4pm at the Youth Centre. New members are always welcome. Contact the Secretary
EXTEND EXERCISE CLASS
Movement to music for men and women over 60 and those less able of all ages, class held at Stickney Village Hall on a Monday's 2.00pm to 3.30pm, price £2.50 plus 20p for a coffee/ tea and biscuit break.

THE LADIES CLUB
The Club is essentially a social meeting group for Stickney ladies with the aim
to promote fellowship and friendship.Meetings are held at 7.30pm. on the second Tuesday of each month in the Youth Centre, Hall Lane. Visiting speakers,
outings, and meals are but a sample of the range of activities available to members. There is an annual membership

STICKNEY & DISTRICT GARDENING CLUB The club meets every 4th Tuesday
of the month in the Youth Centre at 7pm. There is an annual individual
subscription of £10.
The Club is focused around discussions on all aspects of
gardening, a small auction,plus
a garden Quiz with prizes. Coach outings to
garden shows and centres are frequent as are invited expert speakers on gardening subjects. The high spot of the year is the August local plant and produce show held in the

STICKNEY SURGERY PATIENTS SUPPORT GROUP Stickney Patients Support Group
is a fund raising organisation aimed at promoting the well being of all patients
of Stickney Surgery (This applies to non medical matters only) such as providing
wheelchairs for use of patients, new chairs for the
surgery and a new bookcase
for children’s books etc. Talks are arranged on
matters such as Arthritis,
Asthma, and Weight Control. To raise funds the group holds boot sales ,coffee
mornings and a very popular Quiz sheet . Anyone interested in joining the group

STICKNEY PRE-SCHOOL
The Pre-school is run on a sessional basis and was established in 1978. It does
not operate on a catchment area system and extends eligibility to all areas. It
offers a place to children between 2-5yrs to prepare them for schooling. Session
fees are payable for the under threes. Over three year olds are entitled to

TOTS 'N' TOYS
Tots 'n' Toys Parent and Toddler Group is held at the
Village Hall every Thursday 9.30 am - 11.00 am during term time. All ages
welcome - babies - 4 years. This is an informal session which not only develop's
your child's socialising skills, but gives parents the opportunity to make new

MARTIAL ARTS
Instruction in the martial art of Sanku Shido karate will be available from the 28th
September 2005, on each Wednesday Between 6 & 7 p.m.. in the Village Hall at a
cost of £3 per session. The instructor Ivan Wright ( 5th. Dan Black Belt ) is
available on 07817234284 to answer questions. There is a lower age limit of
6yrs., but no upper limit.
