respect to the erection of a wind farm at
Land east of Main Road, Sibsey
In essence the Spanish giant generating company IBERDROLA, has
submitted plans for a wind farm to be sited at Star Farm A16 between
Sibsey and Stickney. The proposal is to install ten 394 foot turbines ( a
height approximately one & half times that of the Boston Stump). Sibsey
Parish Council are to meet in Their Village Hall at 7pm on Tuesday 3rd
April to discuss PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS ONLY. Two Stickney
Parish Councillors will attend the meeting. Stickney will also discuss
PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS ONLY at their formal meeting the
following Thursday (5th April) however there is the opportunity for
public views at 7.20pm during the forum prior to the formal meeting.
Should it be resolved by public forum that a pressure group be formed
the material generated by that body will be carried on the COMMUNITY
PAGE of this site.
Wind Farm Update (On land East of the A16 at Sibsey.)
An Environmental Scoping Report reference S/152/0691/07 has been prepared by
Hyder Consulting Ltd on behalf of Iberdrola for a proposed Wind Farm at Sibsey.
The Sibsey Parish Council, as consultees, replied to East Lindsey District Council on
25th April 2007 regarding the proposal, copy to Mark Simmonds MP and Boston
Borough Council.
49 letters/e mails have been received by East Lindsey District Council from local
residents.
If the outcome of the Environmental Scoping Report is favourable and Iberdrola
decide to proceed they will have to submit a planning application
for consideration.

NATS (National Air Traffic Services) Offer objections as the project would be in
conflict with their “safeguarding criteria.
MOD Objects but would be willing to discuss options with developers
CAA waits for lead from NATS & MOD
Environmental Agency concerns over flood risk. Stringent tests required.
Witham Fourth Drainage Board No specific objection but notes the area is unsuitable
for heavy construction traffic and would need to be brought up to standard by the
developer.
Anglian Water Objection links would be damaged
E-on No objection
ofcom No objection
UK Fuel & Power Object on grounds that 460mhz system would be affected (radio
systems operated by utility companies)
National Grid investigating
LCC no comment at this stage.
